Chinese Trucks Take Lead in Russian Market for the First Time

        According to a research report by the B2B electronic trading platform Tender.pro, cited by Russia's Kommersant newspaper, there has been a significant increase in demand for Chinese auto parts in various regions of Russia.

        The study results show that the demand for spare parts for Shaanxi Automobile (Shacman) vehicles has increased by 69.9%. The demand for spare parts for HOWO vehicles has risen by 44.6%, and the demand for spare parts for Foton vehicles has grown by 3.9%.

        Kommersant notes that the regions most interested in Chinese auto parts are the Central Federal District, the Volga Federal District, the Ural Federal District, the Siberian Federal District, and the Southern Federal District.

        Earlier reports indicated that this summer, Chinese trucks took the lead in the Russian market for the first time. In June 2023, the market share of Chinese trucks was 31%, which increased to 44% by mid-July 2023. The most popular Chinese truck brands in Russia are Shaanxi Automobile (Shacman), HOWO, FAW, JAC, and Hongyan.
